draft 0079 – the prophetic diet.

draft 0079 – the prophetic diet.

Ok. The Prophetic Diet. What is it? So, The Prophetic Diet is the nutritional habits of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) day to day. They are very beneficial to our health and well-being. As he would take care of his body and is the greatest example for us to follow.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would have a dietary staple of dates, honey, olive oil, barley, milk, water, lamb (but not a lot because it was considered a luxury then),pumpkin and pomegranate.

The barley would be used as a flour to make a dish called Talbina, which is a porridge made with milk. It is a really nice dish to eat and very quick to make. Also, it would be made into a bread too.

Taking olive oil was also part of the diet and they would also use it for their hair and skin, there is also a hadith that says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would use that much olive oil that it could be seen on their clothes.

Dates are probably one of the most important foods here. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in Sahih al-Bukhari: "Whoever eats seven Ajwa dates in the morning will not be affected by poison or magic on that day." These beautiful words that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) show us the spiritual side of The Prophetic Diet, too.

As you can see everything that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did was for physical and spiritual benefits. Even if you are not a Muslim, you can find love for this great man just by reading about them. I would suggest that everybody read up about this great statue of a man, I mean everybody Muslims included and obviously the writer (yes, I heard you).

I really enjoyed writing this draft about the greatest man who ever lived. The is also a book written by Michael H. Hart called The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History. Where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is ranked as the most influential person in history. A book that we should definitely read and me because I haven’t.

I will be talking about this book in my next draft (draft 0080).

Anyway, the Prophetic Diet the best diet to follow.

So, I’ll be back on Friday evening at 10pm.

See you then, drafters.
